AAYYEE LOOK A THINGG THAT I’M DOINGG!!!

The rain had been misting down for several days now, giving the town of Taverley a foggy appearance that made everyone feel sleep. Zarafinn, however, was out at the market, taking her time to check all the produce, seemingly undeterred by the water droplets that were gathering in her wavy hair. The droplets ran down her face and dripped off the end of her nose.

NY was walking down the market street, lugging a load of logs piled up to the brim of her nose. She had been chopping wood all day, for her cash stack got extremely low after purchasing some fine armor she’d been saving up for. Her usual money making methods were slow, for she never looked for any alternatives outside of woodcutting or fletching.

Not paying attention to where she was going, she bonked into a slightly shorter person, causing all the logs to topple over the girl, then some rolling down the slightly steap hill.

Ny knew by the sound of her voice that she was asking about the old wood slicer. Suddenly, she had an idea.
Ny gasped. “Come with me!” She said with a huge smile, beguinning to hop the fence. Back when NY was a kid, she always used to sneak in and play with the saw, throwing random things (mostly wood) on the conveyer belt.

Was this safe? Zarafinn watched for a bit before climbing the fence herself. It didn’t seem safe. But, if the woman was doing it, maybe it was alright to do.

She jogged to catch up to the blonde. Maybe this wasn’t so safe after all..

NY went to the controls of the machine, and flipped a switch. In a few seconds the saw started to turn and the conveyer belt started to move. Ny picked up a log held it in front of Zarafinn, smiling like she was a kid again. “Watch this!” She heaved the log onto the conveyer belt, and watched as the saw split it in two. She then looked at Zarafinn with her eyebrows raised.
"Eh? Eh?"

NY grew estatic seeing Zarafinn put the potato on the conveyer. She reached into her invetory bag and pulled out an old book that she was reading out of boardom earlier. It wasn’t a very exciting book, so she threw it onto the belt and watched with glee as the papers flew all over, torn up. She then looked to Zarafinn to see what she would put on.

Zarafinn was horrified as she watched the blade eat through the paper. That was NOT a proper way to treat a book! WHY had she does that! Books were valuable! They held knowledge! And she had just…just..

Zarafinn blinked at the woman, jaw open in shock.

Ny’s smile shifted into confusion. She lifted an eye brow at the girl, whos mouth was a-gape.
"Are you okay?" Ny asked, tilting her head. The teen looked shocked. Did the teen not expect the saw to cut through the book? NY didn’t understand why the girl looked like she just saw a murder.

Shaking the horror off, the woman didn’t seem to realize what was wrong, Zarafinn picked up another little block of wood and ran it through the machine.

"Hey! What are you kids doing?! Get outta’ there!" Someone yelled.

NY perked up and looked over at the worker who was running over. She maayyy have forgotten the fact that every time she came here she was basically thrown out.
NY grabed Zarafinns arm and yelled “Run!”. The two started to head back to the fence they climbed over.

NY was now extremely confused about her origin. She never heard that accent before. Although, after walking with her she DID realize that the teen had a lot of zarosian symbols on her robes. Feeling silly for not noticing them before, she made a mental note that the girl may have been on her way to the Temple at Senntisten.

After a minute of walking, they arrived to a bored, bald looking man with goggles, who was fiddling at some wood behind a glassless window. “Hey Bill!” NY yelled out after plopping the wood in front of the window and gesturing for the girl to do the same.

Zarafinn did not know what a ‘Bill’ was, but apparently this man was one of them. How droll.

Dropping the logs in a heap, Zarafinn seemed disinterested in the man, opting to continue looking around instead.

NY conversed with Bill for a minute, asking how the mill was doing, an so on. After so she picked up a few logs.

"Mind turning these into planks for me?" She placed a medium-ish cash bag on the table.

Bill took the money off the window sill and started to load logs into the lumber yard. NY, about to help him, forgot about the teen that helped her before. What was her name? Zaralynn? Either way she looked around for the teen. It took her a minute to finally find her observing some of the wood chopping mechanisms.

"Zarafain?" Ny walked up to her.

Zarafinn knew of woodmills. She had never been to one, but they had been explained to her.

these particular…devices were unknown to her, however. Pointing, she rattled off some of her native language. She sounded curious.
